The summer heats up in Atlantic City when Borgata hosts the Summer Poker Open from July 7-24. The main event schedule for the Borgata Summer Poker Open, July 14 to July 31, has been released and as usual, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is making a lot of guarantees. Specifically, $1.55 million in guaranteed tournaments starting with the $500,000 guaranteed opening event July 14. The $1 Million Guaranteed 2019 Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship fielded 514 entrants and created a prize pool in excess of $1.2 million. The final table was Live Streamed on Twitch TV and Borgata’s Facebook page and the audience watched as Jackob Datashvili made the right reads and caught the cards when he needed them. He went from next-to-last in the final table chip counts to taking home the 2019 BSPO trophy and $276,129* for 1st Place.

The series started off with a bang with the $1 Million Guaranteed $540+$60 Deep Stack Kick-Off, which saw 1,925 entrants try their luck in six starting flights over three days. At the final table, Edwin Ortiz held the chip lead when the final seven players opted to call it a day. He took 1st place, the trophy, and $105,000* in a seven-way adjusted payout.
Adam Reese took 1st Place in both the Deeper Stack and Almighty Stack NLH events.
Now another Open Series is in the books and 19 Borgata Summer Poker Open trophies have new homes. In fact, two of them went to the same home. Adam Reese etched his name in the record books when he won two main events during this series, the $260+$40 Deeper Stack NLH ($14,805) and the $400+$50 Almighty Stack NLH ($68,806*). The poker dealer from Pennsylvania may be considering a new career.
Ari Engel – 1st Place – Black Chip Bounty post-lim
After earning nine WSOP Circuit rings, Ari Engel finally won his first WSOP bracelet this summer in the $2,500 NLH event. Now just a month later, Engel has added a third Borgata title to his extensive poker resume. He won the $500+60+$100 Black Chip Bounty Deep Stack post-lim event, earning $16,881 and pushing his lifetime earnings close to $6.7 million.
John McGuinness and Eric Siegel both claimed their fourth Borgata titles during this series, joining a very short list of players who can claim that honor. With the elimination of Alex Lin in fourth the final three players began to discuss a deal. The stacks were counted down and an agreement was quickly struck. Paulo Silva went wire to wire with the chip lead and he will take first earning $18,521 and his first Borgata Poker Open trophy.
Ryan Dodd does indeed finish his series strong earning $15,024 for his runner up finish. Ian Levy is our third place finisher and he will bring home his largest career tournament score earning $10,549 for his efforts.

Ryan Dodd raised to 125,000 from early position and Alex Lin called from the button. The big blind called and they went three handed to the flop.
The action checked to Lin who tossed out a bet of 80,000 and the big blind folded. Dodd check-raised to 225,000 and after giving it some thought Lin folded.
